Giants GM Joe Shoen's first question at the NFL Draft Combine was about Saquon Barkley
For The Win For The Win

Giants GM Joe Schoen infamously called Barkley and told him to test his worth on the open market. The rest is history.

Saquon left. He joined the Eagles. The Eagles won the Super Bowl. The Giants stunk and are now picking No. 3 in the NFL Draft.

With the combine taking place this week, Schoen and the Giants are one of the teams most people are interested in talking to. You’d think that it’d be because New York is picking so high.

But, NOPE. That’s not all. It’s not even the first thing on reporter’s minds. The first question Schoen got was about whether he regretted letting Barkley walk out the door to the Eagles.

Someone comes out of the gate and immediately asks Giants GM Joe Schoen if he regrets not re-signing Saquon Barkley

The non-answer answer is hilarious.

“I’m happy for Saquon. Obviously, he went on to win the Super Bowl. And we wish him nothing but the best,” he said. “Always going to evaluate all the decisions you make and we were in a different place in our build. Love Saquon. Wish him nothing but the best.”

There’s a Dril tweet for everything. Schoen’s got the whole “I’m not mad” vibe going on here. Internally, we all know that man is seething.

Anytime you say you wish someone “nothing but the best,” you’re not actually wishing them nothing but the best. As a certified hater myself, I know what hating looks and sounds like. He might not say it outwardly, but Schoen definitely hates that this happened.

Ah well. He can make up for it with a good draft pick in a few months.
