The Giants are coming off a 27-17 loss to the Washington Commanders in Week 1, a game where New York’s offense sputtered and questions continued about Russell Wilson’s role under center. Meanwhile, the Cowboys nearly pulled off an upset against the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles before falling late, 24-20.
New York is looking to avoid starting 0-2 for the third straight season. In each of the last two years, poor starts have buried the Giants’ playoff hopes before October. Dallas, on the other hand, will try to establish early momentum under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
The Cowboys swept the Giants last year in their two meetings. Dallas won 20-15 at MetLife Stadium in Week 4, and were victorious again with a 31-13 victory in Arlington in Week 13.
