The New York Giants are currently taking part in offseason practice as they gear up for the 2026 NFL season. The Giants are entering the season with John Harbaugh as their new head coach, having hired him after he parted ways with the Baltimore Ravens.
The Giants have an intriguing collection of young talent on their roster, including Cam Skattebo, the running back whose rookie season was cut short by an injury last year.
Now, the team has gotten a positive update on Skattebo’s status heading into the new season.
“Cam Skattebo is taking live 11-on-11 reps. First time since his gruesome ankle injury,” reported Dan Duggan of The Athletic on X, formerly Twitter
Skattebo suffered the injury in Week 8 last year against the Philadelphia Eagles, having to be carted back to the locker room and missing the rest of the season as a result.
Prior to that, he had established himself as an electric rookie for the Giants, although some fans had voiced concerns that his violent running style might lead to an increased injury risk down the line.
Skattebo, along with quarterback Jaxson Dart and wide receiver Malik Nabers, make up the Giants’ intriguing collection of young offensive talent. Nabers also went down with a season-ending injury last year after suffering a torn ACL against the Los Angeles Chargers during Dart’s debut with the team.
The Giants will hope to have everyone healthy and ready to go by the time next season rolls around in just over three months. New York will kick things off on September 13 at home against the divisional rival Dallas Cowboys in prime time.
