Young Las Vegas Raiders tight end Carter Runyan has stood out in the preseason.
Let’s take a closer look at Runyan:

He is an undrafted rookie.
College:
Runyan went to Towson (Towson, Maryland) in 2023-24. Prior to that, Runyan was at another small school, Shenandoah University (Winchester, Virginia). He appeared in 39 games games and had 104 career receptions for 1,212 yards and 10 touchdowns.
This preseason:
Runyan played a lot last week against the San Francisco 49ers and had two catches for 29 yards. He was targeted four times.
How he will fit in with Raiders:
Barring a shocking selection to the 53-man roster next week, Runyan’s best chance to to make the Raiders’ practice squad. He is still very much a project and he needs to development, especially considering he is coming from the small-school route. But Runyan has opened some eyes and may get a chance to stick around the program.
