Positive vibes surround George Pickens as he makes his Cowboys debut.
Organized team activities (OTAs) are underway for the Dallas Cowboys, which means the highly anticipated debut of George Pickens has all eyes around Cowboys Nation zeroed in on the talented wide receiver.
Pickens took part in his first on-field activities since arriving via trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers donning the No. 13 jersey, but said nothing is "finalized" about his number right now. Regardless of whatever number he ultimately decides on, the first impression he's made with the Cowboys has positive vibes. Since arriving in Dallas he's received nothing but glowing reviews.
In fact, he recently earned high praise from Dallas' new head coach, Brian Schottenheimer.
Pickens seems to be settling in just fine with his new team and is doing all the things needed to acclimate himself to how things are done in Dallas with Brian Schottenheimer running the show. He's under a bit of a microscope, meaning every move he makes or doesn't will be highly scrutinized.
Despite all of that, there seems to be a renewed energy surrounding the entire organization from top to bottom. You can feel it the way he's spoken about by the media as well as his new teammates and coaching staff. CeeDee Lamb in particular sounds really excited to have him on board.
The WR duo of Lamb and Pickens has the makings of being something truly special in Dallas, something we haven't seen in quite a while. The Cowboys have had their fair share of dynamic WR duo's throughout the history of the organization and the Lamb/Pickens one has the makings to rival any one of them.
It's going to be really interesting to continue to follow Pickens' journey throughout the rest the offseason and especially into the season. His arrival has created a lot of excitement and raised the bar for the Cowboys this year. It was something that was much needed and highly welcomed.
