George Pickens Goes Off on NFL Legend: ‘Don’t Speak on Me’

George Pickens Goes Off on NFL Legend: ‘Don’t Speak on Me’
Steelers Now Steelers Now

Former NFL cornerback Richard Sherman ripped George Pickens for not being productive in the Dallas Cowboys’ 44-30 loss to the Detroit Lions on Thursday night. Pickens had just five receptions for 37 yards, and his effort was horrendous late in the game.

“The big story here is George Pickens. George Pickens, throughout the game, especially late in the game, just looked uninterested in playing football,” Sherman said on Amazon’s postgame show. “And that’s what you can’t have. If you’re going to be a superstar, if you want to be the best receiver in the National Football League, you can never be disengaged. It doesn’t matter if the game is going your way or not going your way. You can’t just disappear in these games, or else you’re not going to have an impact.

“And just right here, cruising, cruising routes. You’re the guy. You’re the guy. CeeDee Lamb is not in this game. He’s out. And you get intercepted on your slant routes. And you can’t be the guy and half-a– it. I’m sorry. That’s just unacceptable.”

Pickens did not even try to catch a deep pass from Dak Prescott late in the game.

Pickens, who caught wind of Sherman blasting him, clapped back in an Instagram story post on Friday. Pickens has since deleted the post.

“This is a team game lmao. I’m not the only one on the team. Stop becoming an analyst and talking about one player when he playin’ a team’s game. Lots of shh has to go right for explosive plays. And it’s funny cause I thought former players would know that such as p—y ass Richard Sherman, who btw ain’t shh without the Legion of Boom,” Pickens wrote. “We all remember San Francisco, brother. Much love. Don’t speak on me unless you know the game of football. As a former player, not a d–kriding fan/analyst that act like double team is not a thing or certain bracket coverages don’t exist. Knowing you played ball, which show me you a leach, weirdo. Now Twitter eat this up. Clouted ah wrld.”

Sherman responded on X.

“Lol kid hasn’t done enough to merit a response from me,” he wrote. “I was working on my 3rd consecutive 1st team All pro and 2nd SB appearance at the same point in my career. Lol I made an ALL-Pro team and SB in SF but that’s the fall off for me.”

Pickens has posted career high numbers this year with the Cowboys, but he went back to his old ways on Thursday night.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones did not see a lack of effort from Pickens on Thursday night.

“He didn’t have the game he’s been having. But effort, I would be very careful with him going there,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan.
