Remember when every single person tried to tell all the Cowboy fans how big of an issue George Pickens is and how he would cause so much drama, and there would be nothing but issues about not signing a long-term deal this summer?
Well, guess what, George Pickens was at the Star on Tuesday for the start of mandatory minicamp and confirmed that he would not be holding out.
Pickens expresses no disappointment over the lack of a long-term deal, says he doesn’t plan on holdout or hold-in, and that he’ll be training camp. ‘What’s important to me is winning,’ he said. ‘I wanna bring a Super Bowl to a group of guys that never had that feeling.’
George Pickens told us at the podium he’s NOT holding out this season.
I asked him again in the locker room if he plans on playing this season and he made it very clear he is.
Pickens says the team and the city are his motivations and winning a SB.

A Dallas Cowboys offseason with no drama and just football. What a feeling it is. Of course, we have a long summer to go, but the biggest issue was whether GP would show up or not, and by his comments, he is at peace playing on the tag.
Pickens also said his relationship with CeeDee Lamb helps to come to work and not worry about a long-term deal.
Pickens signed a $27.3 million fully guaranteed franchise tag to play for the Dallas Cowboys. The exact value of the tender is $27.298 million, which makes it his official 2026 cap figure.
The one-year pact guarantees his salary for the season, though long-term negotiations between Pickens and the team have been tabled as he heads toward potential free agency next offseason.
This is a win-win for the Cowboys, the first time in a long time we have seen no drama heading into a season, and for Pickens, he is happy to play on a $30M dollar tag and if he explodes again this season, he can get his money from either the Cowboys or someone else.
Dallas could tag him again next season, but placing the tag on a player hardly happens two years in a row.
The last time they did that was with Dak Prescott in 2020 and 2021 and DeMarcus Lawerence in 2018 and 2019, I just don’t see them doing this again, not when it comes to a player like Pickens.
