Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens has changed his jersey number with the Dallas Cowboys. After wearing No. 13 for the first couple weeks with his new team, he was seen wearing No. 3 on Tuesday.

Clarence Hill of DLLS Sports reported that No. 13 may not be Pickens’ permanent number and that turns out to be true as he now rocks his new number.

Pickens wore No. 14 with the Steelers, but that number is currently held by Cowboys safety Markquese Bell. No. 1, which was Picken’s number at Georgia, is worn by wide receiver Jalen Tolbert.

According to the team’s website, No. 3 is also worn by defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. So unless Fowler changes his number as well, which has not been reported, No. 3 may not be Pickens’ permanent number, either.

Pittsburgh traded Pickens to Dallas on May 7. The Steelers received a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick in return, while the Cowboys received Pickens and a 2027 sixth-round pick.

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer is thrilled to have Pickens in Big D.

“My time with him has been incredible,” Schottenheimer said. “We were all on board (with adding him). I see a guy that is maturing. He’s obviously a tremendous athlete.”

Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott is also excited to work with Pickens and thinks his team is putting together “a nice group of weapons” with CeeDee Lamb and Pickens.

“You turn on the tape, you see a guy that can catch the football,” Prescott said on 96.7 The Ticket, via Jon Machota of TheAthletic.com. “You put the football anywhere in his vicinity, very strong hands. More than a 50/50 catcher. He thinks it’s his ball when it’s in the air. I’m excited for him. I know we needed some help at that position.”
