The Cincinnati Bengals will be without starting safety Geno Stone for a bit.
During Thursday’s preseason opener vs. the Philadelphia Eagles, Stone exited the game with an undisclosed injury.
Then on Saturday, head coach Zac Taylor announced that Stone would be week-to-week going forward due to a soft tissue injury.
The good news is it doesn’t sound like this will be a long-term issue, so Stone has plenty of time to get ready for the Week 1 opener vs. the Cleveland Browns.
Even so, the Bengals need to add another safety to this already-thin room. After Jordan Battle, it’s Daijahn Anthony, Tycen Anderson, and PJ Jules looking to hold the fort down while having very little regular-season experience.
