Las Vegas Raiders starting quarterback Geno Smith departed Sunday’s game at Allegiant Stadium at the start of the fourth quarter with a shoulder injury.
He was replaced by backup Kenny Pickett.
Smith appeared to be uncomfortable after an opening drive in the third quarter. He was being attended to with a reported hand issus. He did go back into the game, but he was replaced on third down near the goal line. Pickett came in and couldn’t convert on foruth and goal.
It remains to be seen what Smith’s status will be moving forward and whether he will be able to play next Sunday at the Philadelphia Eagles.
Smith, 35, has completed 13 of 21 passes for 116 yards and one touchdown Sunday. He has been sacked three tines.
Raider’s cornerback Kyu Blu Kelly has been ruled out with a knee injury and it could be serious. Backup tight end Ian Thomas is out with a calf injury.
