Las Vegas Raiders starting quarterback Geno Smith was taken to the locker room in the fourth quarter against the New York Giants.
The team said he has an ankle injury and is questionable to return. Yet, it is unlikely he will play again Sunday. Now, it will be determine if he will play next week in the seoans finale, against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Depending on the severity of the injury, we may have seen the alst of Smith this season. Of course, there is a real question if he will return next season.
Smith, acquired from the Seattle Seahawks for a third-round pick, has had a terrible first season in Las Vegas. He has thrown a lead-leading 17 interceptions. Fittingly, he was injured on his second interception of the game Sunday.
Backup Kenny Pickett replaced Smitha nd he could play next week as well. Pickett started in a 31-0 road loss at the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15 when Smith was out with shoulder and back injuries.
