Garrett Wilson left the Jets’ Week 10 win over the Cleveland Browns after suffering an apparent knee injury. The injury will force him to miss time per ESPN’s Rich Cimini.

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson is expected to miss at least three to four weeks with a right knee sprain, a source told ESPN on Monday.

It’s a tough break for the star wide receiver. He had just returned after missing two games from a separate knee injury suffered in the Jets’ Week 7 loss to the Denver Broncos in London.

Losing Wilson will have an undeniably negative impact on an already struggling Jets passing attack.

It will, however, open up playing time opportunities for recently acquired wide receivers Adonai Mitchell and John Metchie. The Jets added the pair of young receivers in trades made before the deadline. Both players were deemed extraneous by their previous teams. Neither has an NFL trade record to date, but they are young enough to theoretically develop into contributors of some sort. It’s tough to find a silver lining to losing your top receiver, but if one exists that’s it.
