Mile High Report
In a wild one yesterday, the Denver Broncos came out victorious in overtime over the Buffalo Bills. The cost of the victory was brutal, however, with Bo Nix suffering a fractured ankle and is done for the remainder of this season. We all went from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows in the span of about 30 minutes.
The Broncos must go on to the next one and so we must as well. There were more game ball worthy plays in this game that we could have handed out and the first one is obviously going to go to the man who made it all possible. He put the Broncos offense on his shoulders and carried them to victory with a lot of help from a defense that generated five turnovers. Let’s get to it.
Here are Mile High Report’s game balls for the Broncos’ 33-30 victory against the Bills in the Divisional Round.
If there were any doubters of Nix, they’re now gone. Nix just lead the Broncos to one of the best playoff victories in franchise history, while also out/dueling Josh Allen. The second-year Broncos quarterback finished the game 26-46 passing for 279 yards, with three touchdowns and an interception. Nix was also Denver’s leading rusher with 29 yards on 12 carries. If that wasn’t enough, Nix finished the game-wining on a broken ankle. Historic, legendary showing by the Broncos quarterback. While the injury sucks and Nix won’t play again this season, this will serve as a rallying cry for this team. He will still find a way to lead and motivate Denver to two more wins. – Ian St. Clair
I am sure all of you felt the same way I did after the Broncos punted in overtime. Game over. The defense had four turnovers up to that point, but the Bills scored on every other drive that didn’t result in a turnover. I literally told my daughter that Denver was likely to lose now unless they got a turnover and, I kid you not, this was the very next play after those words left my mouth.
Ja’Quan McMillian is a gamer and a guy the Broncos need to figure out how to keep beyond his RFA tender. He comes up with the big plays at just the right moment. Have a game ball, sir! – Tim Lynch
In the postseason, kicking for points is pivotal to winning. Wil Lutz gets my game ball this week for having ice water in his veins. He was perfect on the day and nailed the game winning points in overtime to send the Broncos to the AFC Championship game. – Sadaraine
Marvin Mims had one of the best games of his career after almost getting knocked out on the first play of the game. He finished the game with 8 catches for 93 yards and a TD (after which he was...
