Game balls for the Broncos 24-17 win over the Raiders in Week 14
Mile High Report Mile High Report

The Denver Broncos were dominant in their 24-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. At least until the final couple of minutes when the defense just mailed it in and gave up 10-points for no reason. Despite the backdoor cover of the spread, the Broncos offense proved they can control the ball and clock. Their longest drive of the season came on the first drive, which they then topped again in the third quarter, and then topped that drive with another in the fourth quarter. It was a beautiful sight to see after so much inconsistency from that unit over the entire season.

The defense too finally got their act together after a pretty bad stretch of drives over the last two weeks. Giving up that touchdown on the first possession had many of us feeling like “here we go again”, but they locked it down from then on out until those last two drives where they clearly mailed it in after going up by three scores. Overall, it was a convincing win and at 11-2, they are primed for a top seed in the AFC.

Here are Mile High Report’s game balls for the Broncos’ 24-17 victory against the Raiders on Sunday!

Marvin Mims Jr.

What can I say about the Broncos’ All-Pro special teamer? He is an absolute playmaker and a guy that I sincerely believe needs to be more involved on the offensive side of the ball. I believe Mims is the secret weapon that the offense needs heading down the final stretch of games. He’s just too explosive to be used for an occasional jet sweep. I’m sure there is a reason why we don’t see more of him on offense, but I feel like they need to just work it out already. Either way, this punt return was a game-changing play that kind of woke the rest of the team up a bit and led them to a convincing 24-7 lead. Have a game ball, Marv! – Tim Lynch

Bo Nix

I just saw a post that talked about Bo Nix as a game manager. Yeah. That’s what he is. And he’s a winner. Bearing the Raiders isn’t exactly the most difficult task in the NFL, but this was a win that really mattered. The tie breaker scenario with New England hung in the balance. The bad taste from the first win against Las Vegas was still present. But Nix just wins. 31-38 for 212 yards and one rushing TD. Not too much. Just what was needed. 3rd and 8? Bo gets 10. That’s all you need. Give him a gameball. – Adam Malnati

Adam Prentice

Adam Prentice gets my game ball this week. He moved the chains multiple times for the offense as yet another weapon teams have to account for on the Broncos offense. I don’t think the fullback position is going to make some crazy resurgence in the modern game, but I’m thankful for his contributions on this team...
