The full details of the blockbuster trade between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins on Monday have now been reported, with the Steelers landing All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey and Pro Bowl tight end Jonnu Smith.
The deal will go down as one of the biggest in team history, with All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick going the other direction.

The Steelers are also giving Ramsey a raise in 2025, increasing his salary to $26.6 million, and giving Smith a one-year contract extension worth $12 million. Ramsey is under contract through 2028. The extension will keep Smith in Pittsburgh through the end of the 2026 season.
Pittsburgh will incur a $15.5 million dead cap hit thanks to trading Fitzpatrick, and will net $6.855 million in cap savings from trading him away. The full salary cap implications of the trade won’t be able to be determined until the details of new deals for Ramsey and Smith are reported.
The Steelers had two fifth-round picks in the 2027 NFL Draft, previously acquiring the Dallas Cowboys’ fifth-rounder as part of the George Pickens trade that also sent the Cowboys’ 2026 third-round pick to Pittsburgh and the Steelers’ 2027 sixth-round pick to Dallas.
