The Kansas City Chiefs had an eventful Tuesday afternoon following their fifth Organized Team Activities practice session.

Severe thunderstorms swept across Jackson County on Tuesday, bringing strong winds, heavy rain, and reports of storm damage across communities.

FOX 4 Kansas City meteorologist Jacob Lanier confirmed reports of a Tornado on the ground over GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium at the Truman Sports Complex in the East Kansas City area.

The Tornado was tracking over I-70 into the Independence, Missouri, area. That tornado-warned storm skirted along the edge of the city limits of Raytown and Kansas City, bringing down power lines and tree limbs.

At the Jackson County Sports Complex, debris was seen blowing around the Kauffman Stadium parking lot.

Workers were seen clearing branches and toppling portable toilets from the Arrowhead Stadium parking lot where the Kansas City Chiefs play.

Locals captured footage of the dangerous conditions to post on social media.

So far… really have not seen many damage reports from Johnson or Jackson county. Minor storm damage near Arrowhead Stadium along with a semi truck blown over on I-435 @ Stadium Dr. NWS will survey later to see where/if there was a tornado. @fox4kc #KCwx #MOwx #KSwx pic.twitter.com/rYYvpqQ2np

It’s unclear if Chiefs players left practice facilities following team meetings at OTAs or remained at team facilities during the storm.

Kauffman Stadium, which is just minutes away, also experienced some scary moments.
