Friday Night Happy Hour: Valentine’s Day Edition
Behind the Steel Curtain Behind the Steel Curtain

Welcome back to BTSC’s Friday night open thread:

  1. It’s Valentine’s Day, BTSC — and with draft season in full gear following the Super Bowl, it seems appropriate to talk about draft crushes. Who are the prospects you “love” early on in the process, preferably names that aren’t already oversaturated in the current Steelers discourse.
  2. Same question, but with free agency. Who are some players you have your eye on right now who aren’t the biggest names?
  3. I think most would agree that the Pittsburgh offense was significantly worse than the defense in 2024. However, a number of Steelers mock drafts seem to have defense as a higher priority. If you were in charge of roster construction, would you be throwing more resources at the offense or defense this offseason?
  4. The Steelers swapped out secondary coaches during the week, bringing in Gerald Alexander and not renewing the contract of Grady Brown. Does this move the needle in either direction for you? The Steelers’ secondary certainly disappointed at the end of the season, but Brown seemed to be a well-respected coach.
  5. Earlier this week on his podcast, Ben Roethlisberger named the most underrated receivers he played with, shouting out Mike Wallace and Jerricho Cotchery. Who do you think were the most underrated wideouts of the Big Ben era?
  6. Give me your best Steelers-related Valentine’s Day card pun.

BONUS: My song of the night. Absolutely digging some of the hits off the new Weeknd album:

So, settle down for the weekend, share your food and drink of choice, and let’s talk some football.
