Friday Night Happy Hour: The Odyssey edition
Behind the Steel Curtain Behind the Steel Curtain

Welcome back to BTSC’s Friday night open thread:

  1. Jarrett is compiling a list of the 30 greatest Steelers of all time. I haven’t seen who will earn the No. 1 spot, but the consensus has always been that title goes to Mean Joe Greene. As a result, who would you say is the second best Steeler of all time?
  2. Commenter Hearts and Smarts jokingly floated “West Coast of the Allegheny River offense” as a monicker for Mike McCarthy’s Steelers scheme. If the offense does well in 2026, what nickname would you give it?
  3. The next time I write one of these articles, in two weeks, we’ll finally be into training camp. What storyline are you looking forward to the most?
  4. Similarly, who are your Isaac Redman Award frontrunners ahead of camp?
  5. Ryan and I have asked plenty of movie questions lately, and I was tempted to continue the trend as I’m off to watch The Odyssey this evening. Of course, the movie is based on an ancient epic, so, what’s the oldest piece of media that you enjoy?
  6. On a similar note, if you had to go on a quest — say, something like Lord of the Rings or The Odyssey — which five past or present Steelers would you bring along for the best chances of success?

Tonight’s song rec: A classic, and thankfully the version that wasn’t stereo remastered is still widely available.
