These two players with strong college pedigrees are looking to carve out roles with the Packers early on.

As we continue to move forward beyond the 2025 NFL Draft and towards the start of OTAs, information continues to trickle in about the newest members of the Green Bay Packers’ roster. Today, we find profiles of a late-round draft pick and one of the most intriguing members of the team’s undrafted free agent class to kick off Cheese Curds.

What exactly made Collin Oliver drop a bit in the draft is pretty clear to see. What made Jamon Johnson go undrafted is a bit less obvious. But both players could end up playing limited but meaningful snaps in the fall, with Johnson certainly facing a tougher uphill climb to make the team.

Meanwhile, Thursday was a fun day on social media amid the selection of a Chicago native as the new pope. The new pope was born in Chicago, which begs this critically important question: Did any Popes play for the Green Bay Packers? The answer is yes: P.J. Pope (whom they signed off the Bears’ practice squad in 2006) and Bucky Pope, a wide receiver who played in the late 60s.
