Taking a look at a few potential free agent targets this weekend

While the Las Vegas Raiders won’t be participating in Conference Championship weekend, free agency is coming up in a few months and there are a few players to keep tabs on this Sunday. Below is a look at a handful of impending free agents from the Washington Commanders, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills and Kansas Chiefs who the Raiders might be interested in.

Commanders vs. Eagles

Commanders: S Jeremy Chinn, WR Dyami Brown

With Marcus Epps and Tre’von Moehrig scheduled to hit the open market this offseason, Las Vegas will likely be in the safety market. Chinn could be a good target as a do-it-all type of defensive back. The soon-to-be 27-year-old can cover the slot, play in the box and be a center fielder, racking up 117 total tackles (seven TFL), five passes defended (one INT) and two sacks this past season.

Las Vegas will also be looking for some wide receiver help this spring. Brown didn’t do much in the regular season with just 30 catches for 308 yards and a touchdown in 16 games, but he’s been impressive in the playoffs with 11 catches for 187 yards and a score. At just 25 years old, Brown could be worth taking a flier on.

Eagles: LB Zack Baun, RB Kenneth Gainwell

The Silver and Black will also be in the linebacker market this offseason since Robert Spillane and Divine Deablo are impending free agents. Baun could be one of the best players available at the position, having a career year in Philadelphia by earning the highest grade from Pro Football Focus (90.1) among backers.

It’s no secret that the Raiders could use some running back help and the offense will need a pass-catching/third-down back if Ameer Abdullah walks. Gainwell, who has a background as a wide receiver, could fill that role with 102 catches for 721 yards during his four-year career.

Bills vs. City Chiefs

Bills: S Damar Hamlin

The Bills don’t have many notable free agents who are young enough to make sense for Las Vegas or would fill one of the team’s needs. However, Hamlin could be an intriguing safety option. He logged 89 total tackles, had five passes defended (two interceptions) and posted a 70.9 PFF run-defense grade during the regular season.

Chiefs: G Trey Smith, LB Nick Bolton, S Justin Reid

The Raiders’ biggest rival has a handful of options that could be worth poaching on the open market.

Smith might be the biggest priority as arguably the best guard available in free agency. The 25-year-old (turns 26 in June) has become one of the better players at his position over the last four seasons and is coming off a campaign where he didn’t allow a sack and posted the eighth-best PFF run-blocking grade (80.8) among guards.

In a similar vein, Bolton will be one of the top linebackers on the open market. He’s logged triple-digit tackles in three out of...
