A former specialist of the Pittsburgh Steelers is joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers kicker B.T. Potter is signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 2026 season, according to an announcement made by the team.
Potter, 26, was an undrafted free agent in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Clemson. He signed with the Steelers later that summer but was released after training camp.
Potter then caught on with the Michigan Panthers of the UFL in 2025 and made 11 of 16 field goals and was perfect from less than 40 yards. His longest kick was a 56-yarder.
During his time at Clemson from 2018-22, Potter appeared in 59 career games and converted 73-of-97 field-goal attempts (75.3%) and 234-of-235 extra-point attempts (99.6%).
Potter was also a Lou Groza Award semifinalist in 2022 after going 20-of-26 on field goals and 49-of-49 on extra points. Over his final two seasons, he made 41 field goals and was a perfect 97-of-97 on PATs, while handling kickoff duties for a Clemson team that won the ACC Championship in 2022.
He also set several records, including scoring in the most consecutive games in Clemson history (54 games), becoming the first player in ACC history to have four different 100-point seasons, recording the most field goals made in Clemson history (73), the most extra points made in Clemson history (234), the most points in Clemson history (453) and consecutive PATs made (122).
Potter now joins former Steelers special teams coordinator Danny Smith in Tampa Bay.
