The Las Vegas Raiders are continuing to reshape their organizational culture under new general manager John Spytek, and their latest move involves adding former Pittsburgh Steelers executive Brandon Hunt to their front office.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Raiders are expected to hire Hunt as their new vice president of player personnel. Hunt brings a wealth of experience and a strong track record in personnel evaluation. Most recently, he served as senior director of scouting for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024, where he played a key role in helping general manager Howie Roseman construct a Super Bowl-winning roster. He spent 2022 and 2023 as the director of scouting in Philadelphia.
Prior to his stint with the Eagles, Hunt spent a decade with the Pittsburgh Steelers (2009โ21) as their pro scouting coordinator. His NFL journey began even earlier, as a pro scout with the Houston Texans from 2007 to 2009. Hunt first broke into the league with the Steelers in 2005 as a scouting intern during their Super Bowl XL-winning season.
Huntโs ties to Pittsburgh extend beyond his professional background. He is a native of the area, a graduate of Pine-Richland High School, and a former guard at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). He also worked as a graduate assistant at IUP in 2004 before making his move into the NFL.
The addition of Hunt is just one of several major front-office changes for the Raiders this offseason. Las Vegas also hired Brian Stark as assistant general manager and brought in veteran head coach Pete Carroll, signaling a new direction for the franchise.
Off the field, six-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady continues to make headlines as a minority owner. Brady owns a 5% stake in the team and is reportedly becoming more involved in strategic operations.
On the field, the Raiders made a splash in the 2025 NFL Draft by selecting running back Ashton Jeanty with the No. 5 overall pick. Veteran quarterback Geno Smith is expected to lead the offense this fall.
With changes at nearly every level, the Raiders are clearly committed to building a competitive and forward-thinking franchise for the future.
