A former defensive tackle of the Pittsburgh Steelers has earned himself another pro opportunity.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Carlos Davis has found a new professional home, being drafted by the St. Louis Battlehawks in the 2026 UFL Draft.

Davis, 29, was a seventh-round selection by the Steelers in the 2020 NFL Draft. He spent three seasons in Pittsburgh, recording 12 tackles (three for loss) and one sack in 12 career games.

He played 54 snaps and recorded seven tackles in his rookie year, but his snaps decreased in 2021 and 2022. Davis appeared in just one game in 2022, playing 12 snaps against the Philadelphia Eagles and registering one tackle and his first career sack.

Davis then signed with the Atlanta Falcons in June of 2023 but was cut at the end of training camp. On Oct. 6, 2023, he signed with the Birmingham Stallions.

Davis re-joined the Falcons in December, signing with the team’s practice squad. However, after not receiving a futures contract with the Falcons, Davis was re-signed by the Stallions on Jan. 19, 2024.

He had a banner year, too, recording 23 tackles, four tackles for loss and seven sacks. Davis posted a 73.5 defensive grade, according to Pro Football Focus, and was named to the 2024 All-UFL Team after the season.

Davis then earned yet another NFL opportunity in 2024 with the Cincinnati Bengals, and he credits his brother, Khalil Davis, for helping him get there.

“I got to watch five games of Khalil with this team last year. I got to watch him join this team, and from what I saw, I loved it. I was going to be a Birmingham Stallion regardless, and I’m glad I made this decision,” Davis said.

A native of Blue Springs, Missouri, Davis played collegiately at Nebraska, where he recorded 124 tackles, 9.5 sacks, one forced fumble and eight passes defensed from 2016-19.
