A former defensive lineman of the Pittsburgh Steelers has found a new home.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Chris Wormley is signing to the Indianapolis Colts practice squad, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

Wormley, 32, played for the Steelers for three seasons from 2020-22. Pittsburgh traded a fifth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft in exchange for the veteran and a 2021 seventh-round pick.

Over his three years in the Steel City, Wormley racked up 88 tackles, 8.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and three passes defensed. He set career-high marks in tackles (51) and sacks (seven) in 2021.

Wormley began his career as a third-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens. He spent the first three years of his career in Baltimore before being dealt to the Steelers.

Following his three-year stint in Pittsburgh, Wormley then joined the Carolina Panthers in 2023. However, he was never the same player after suffering an ACL injury in the Steelersโ€™ home game against the Ravens in December of 2022.

The Ravens opted to bring Wormley back in 2024, signing him to their practices squad. He appeared in just two games and recorded four tackles.

A native of Toledo, Ohio, Wormley played college football at Michigan, where he had 120 tackles, 18 sacks and one forced fumble from 2013-16. Following the 2016 season, he was named to the All-Big Ten Conference defensive first-team and a second-team All-American by Sporting News.
