A former cornerback of the Pittsburgh Steelers could soon be on the move.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers slot cornerback Arthur Maulet may soon have a new home after the New York Jets worked him out this week, according to NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo.

Maulet, 32, has reportedly had offers and inquires from several teams around the league, but he is searching for the right fit and opportunity. He previously played for the Jets during the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

The former undrafted corner originally signed with the Houston Texans ahead of the 2025 season, but he was released on August 26 as part of their final roster cuts.

Before then, Maulet spent a couple of years with the Baltimore Ravens. He had a standout year in 2023, recording 37 tackles, two sacks, two fumble recoveries, one interception and five passes defended, that earned him a two-year contract extension.

However, he was released this offseason following an injury-riddled season in 2024, during which he was limited to just three games.

Maulet joined the Steelers on a one-year deal in 2021. During that season, he had 47 tackles, one forced fumble and one pass defensed, which earned him a two-year contract extension the next offseason.

Pittsburgh released Maulet just one year into his extension in a bit of a surprising move since he was coming off the most productive season of his career, recording a career-high 59 tackles, two sacks, one forced fumble and one interception.

It turns out Maulet was looking for more money and the Steelers did not oblige.

“I’m a vet, year No. 7,” Maulet told Ravens.com. “I just wanted a little something, a little security. I think I earned that. Baltimore gave me that, which was surprising that it was a rivalry team. Obviously, they believe in me. That just makes me feel good about the work I put in this offseason.”

Maulet has also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints, who he began his NFL career with in 2017. He has 225 tackles, five sacks, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, 16 passes defensed and four interceptions in his eight-year NFL career.
