The Senior Bowl is an event frequented by the Seattle Seahawks over the years, and the 2026 game will feature a former Seahawks defensive coordinator in a head coach role.
Clint Hurtt, currently with the Philadelphia Eagles as a senior defensive assistant/defensive line coach, was announced as the National Team head coach at the Panini Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. The game will be Saturday, Jan. 31 at 11:30 am PT on NFL Network.
“We are thrilled to have Clint Hurtt as our head coach of the National Team in the 2026 Panini Senior Bowl,” said Drew Fabianich, the executive director of the Panini Senior Bowl. “He is a highly regarded coach with a proven track record throughout his career. Clint will make a positive impact on his players and coaches during the week with his leadership and deep knowledge of the game. He will be a great mentor for the top prospects in the 2026 Draft.”
New Orleans Saints running backs coach Joel Thomas (who has local connections as the former RBs coach at the University of Washington under Steve Sarkisian) will be the American Team coach.
Hurtt was the Seahawks’ DC from 2022-2023 under Pete Carroll, having previously served as an assistant head coach/defensive line coach from 2017 through 2021. After he was not retained by Mike Macdonald, Hurtt ended up winning a Super Bowl with the Eagles in 2024, and now he’s got himself a one-day head coaching role for college football’s biggest All-Star game.
