Bryce Perkins and Luis Perez could win UFL MVP award

Former members of the Los Angeles Rams are finding great success in the UFL. Quarterbacks Bryce Perkins and Luis Perez are in consideration for the league’s most valuable player award along with former Kansas City Chiefs QB Jordan Ta’amu.

Perkins started one game during the 2022 season while Matthew Stafford was shut down early with a spinal cord contusion. He spent the 2020 through 2022 seasons on LA’s roster after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent from Virginia.

Perez’ time with the Rams was more limited to training camp and preseason. He also went undrafted out of Texas A&M-Commerce in 2018. Perez had another stint with the Rams in 2022 after impressing in the then-XFL.

Ta’amu appears to be the front-runner for the UFL MVP award; however, Perez or Perkins still have a chance at offensive player of the year should they fall short.

Bryce Perkins - Michigan Panthers

Despite not playing the last two weeks, Perkins still ranks No. 3 in passing yards in the UFL with 1,342. With Perkins at QB, the Panthers looked like a championship-caliber franchise and one to reckon with the defending UFL champion Birmingham Stallions.

Luis Perez - Arlington Renegades

...after last week’s performance, Perez became the only QB in the last five years to throw for at least 2,000 yards in three consecutive seasons. His 2,310 yards remains the record for passing in a 10-game season across the USFL, XFL and UFL.
