Bryce Perkins is the UFL MVP
Bryce Perkins could not win the backup quarterback job on the L.A. Rams, but he can win the MVP award in the UFL.
Perkins was announced as the league’s 2025 MVP on Friday following a season in which he had 1,342 passing yards and 14 total touchdowns for the Michigan Panthers. Perkins leads the Panthers into the UFL Championship game this Saturday against the D.C. Defenders.
In addition to MVP, Perkins also won Offensive Player of the Year.
An undrafted free agent out of Virginia, Perkins started one game for the Rams in 2022. He threw two interceptions on 34 pass attempts that season. Perkins battled against John Wolford over several training camps and at times looked like the preseason favorite to win the backup role outright, but struggled having a consistent passing game in his arsenal.
It is no small consolation prize then that Perkins is now considered the best player in another league of misfits.
