The Philadelphia Eagles are set to make their second Super Bowl appearance in the last three seasons with Jalen Hurts leading the way at quarterback.

Hurts has performed exceptionally well for the Eagles, even when the offense has struggled down the stretch.

The multi-time Pro-Bowler has earned the respect of former NFL player and current Fox Sports analyst Mark Schlereth.

“I’ll give a ton of credit to Jalen Hurts for not being selfish. For understanding that the best way for us to be successful is to take it out of my hands occasionally and let the other guys do the work,” Schlereth said via “Breakfast Ball” on Wednesday.

Schlereth also compared Hurts to a younger Russell Wilson, who didn’t have to be the hero early on in his career with the Seahawks, which is how they ended up winning a Super Bowl.

Hurts led the Eagles to a record of 12-3 when he started and posted career-best marks in completion percentage and passer rating.

In addition to his solid numbers, he has realized that the offense runs through All-Pro running back Saquon Barkley.

The 2,000-yard rusher has been arguably the best player in the league this season and could be the biggest reason why the Eagles are where they are.

It also helps the team to know that they have an elite defense on the other side.

If the Eagles are going to get over the hump and win another Super Bowl, they might not need Hurts to be the hero, and that is okay.
