The New England Patriots bandwagon could reach full capacity after Sunday’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

New England remains tied for first place in the AFC after improving to 8-2 with another road triumph. Defeating the NFC South leaders has many onlookers feeling the Patriots are for real.

Damien Woody is among those backers. The former Pro Bowl offensive lineman, who won two Super Bowls with the Patriots, made a substantial claim about his old team on ESPN’s “Get Up.”

“The road to the Super Bowl in the AFC is going through Foxborough,” Woody said on Monday morning.

Woody’s proclamation didn’t sit well with former New York Jets and Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan and host Mike Greenberg, a diehard Jets fan.

“Oh God,” an exasperated Ryan said twice.

“I can’t take it,” Greenberg said. “This was like an entire generation, two generations of my life, and now I have to deal with it again. But they are legit. That’s the case. They’re legit, and they’re at the very beginning of how good they’re going to be.”

To their dismay, Woody gleefully declared, “We’re back!” in a sing-song voice.

While the Patriots solidified their contention status on Sunday, the Bills suffered a stunning 30-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Woody bashed the Bills for not capitalizing on their long-running division dominance with a championship while they had the chance.

“They lost their way. They royally messed up their window,” Woody said of the Bills. “They’ve had the AFC East locked down for six years, and they have nothing to show for it. And guess what? … Here are the Patriots. They’re back again.”

The Patriots can take one step closer to Woody’s prediction of attaining the AFC’s No. 1 seed by defeating the Jets this Thursday night.
