Veteran kicker Nick Folk is headed back to the AFC East and joining the New York Jets for his second go-around.
“We’ve signed K Nick Folk,” the Jets official X account posted on Tuesday.
The 40-year-old opened his career with the Dallas Cowboys for three seasons, earning a Pro Bowl nod during his 2007 rookie campaign. Folk then spent seven seasons with the Jets from 2010 to 2016 and four games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2017.
He then missed the entire 2018 campaign and joined the New England Patriots in 2019. Folk spent four seasons in New England, making 108 of his 121 field goal attempts (89.3%) across 57 regular season games and all three of his tries in two playoff contests, before being traded to the Tennessee Titans in August 2023.
The former sixth-round pick has only gotten better with age, leading the NFL in field goal percentage each of the last two seasons.
Folk’s 729 points are second-most in Jets franchise history and his career 84.3% field goal percentage is 28th all-time, according to NewYorkJets.com contributor Jack Bell.
