There are a lot of eyes on what is happening with the Las Vegas Raiders’ and their coaching staff right now and that includes former players.
Two former Raiders’ offensive lineman have chimed in on the performance and job status of offensive line coach Brennan Carroll, after the team has allowed 21 sacks in the past three games, including allowing 10 sacks to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday as the Raiders fell to 2-9.
Las Vegas offensive coordinator Chip Kelly was fired hours after the game. On his verified X account, former Raiders offensive lineman Richie Incognito wrote that Carroll — the son of Raiders’ head coach Pete Carroll — “got to go” in a detailed, scathing take down Tuesday on how poor Carroll’s unit has performed this season.
Incognito’s honest, passionate take was in response to an interview with fellow former Raiders offensive lineman Lincoln Kennedy who also had a frank opinion on Brennan Carrol’s job this season.
In addition to Kelly, Pete Carroll fired special teams coach Tom McMahon earlier this month and senior offensive assistant Bob Bicknell, Kelly’s right-hand man, was also fired this week. Monday, Carroll said he doesn’t anticipate making any other changes on the staff.
Regardless of Carroll’s plan, it is clear people are taking notice of what’s happening on the staff.
