Jordan Shipley needs all of the prayers right now.
The former All-American wide receiver at the University of Texas was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday. A serious accident put him in “serious condition,” according to a report from On Texas Football’s Bobby Burton.
According to Burton, Shipley suffered third-degree burns over 20 percent of his body. It came as a result of an accident on his ranch. Jordan’s father, Bob, is asking for prayers.

It should be noted that Jordan Shipley is in “stable but serious condition,” per Burton.
Most fans remember Jordan Shipley for his time at Texas, but he also spent time in the NFL. A few years ago, the Shipley family was struck with tragedy. Sharon Shipley, the mother of former Texas WRs Jordan and Jaxon, was found deceased.
A search from the Abilene Police Department led to the discovery of 55-year-old Sharon Shipley’s body. She had voluntarily left a treatment facility and was reported missing. Bob Shipley, Sharon’s husband, would later announce a celebration of life for his deceased wife.
Jordan Shipley played in Austin for the Longhorns from 2006-2009 and finished with 3,191 yards and 33 touchdowns on 248 catches. Jaxon Shipley played from 2011 to 2014, where he secured 218 receptions for 2,510 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Jordan has been a fan favorite, even years after his final playing days. His most notable moment was in 2008 when he returned a kickoff 96 yards against No. 1 Oklahoma. It helped lead Texas to a victory. Later that same year, he would set a Texas record for receptions.
He would later be granted an additional year of eligibility due to injuries sustained earlier in his career. In 2009, he helped lead Texas to the national title game against Alabama. Jordan Shipley logged 116 catches for 1,485 yards and 13 touchdowns.
He ended up being a third-round pick in the NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. After spending two years in Cincinnati, he briefly played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars in 2012. Shipley finished his NFL career with 79 catches for 858 yards and four touchdowns.
