New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has quickly become one of the standout stories of the NFL season. In his second year, Maye has shown poise in the pocket, linking up with his top receivers, Stefon Diggs and Kayshon Boutte.

However, the rest of the receiving corps produces significantly less output beyond these two, which poses challenges moving forward.

If the Patriots truly want to contend for the Super Bowl this season, they will likely need to trade for another receiver. Former NFL receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh believes that Philadelphia Eagles receiver A.J. Brown would be a fantastic option.

“Ship him to one of two teams, Buffalo or New England,” Houshmandzadeh said about the possibility of Brown being traded during “Up & Adams” on Friday.

Watching Buffalo and New England engage in a bidding war for Brown would be interesting, as the winner could emerge in the AFC East.

Houshmandzadeh also believes Brown could turn the Bills and Patriots into one of the teams to beat.

“If the Bills or Patriots get A.J. Brown, both teams will be extremely strong and ready to compete for a Super Bowl,” Houshmandzadeh added. “That’s just how much of a difference maker he is.”

Brown is in his fourth season with the Eagles and has played in two Super Bowls, losing in 2022 and winning last season. He understands what it takes to be among the top teams in the league and could be a valuable asset to a young Patriots squad that’s exceeding expectations.
