Sam Beal — a former NFL Draft selection by the New York Giants — has been missing for a disturbing amount of time. The NFL cornerback has been missing since July 2025, his sister, Essence Zhane, revealed on social media.
Essence Zhane took to social media and sent out a desperate plea for help in finding her brother. The 29-year-old was last seen dropping off his girlfriend before borrowing her car. Instead of Beal heading to work, he drove to Virginia Beach. He then spoke to her by phone, promising to return, but then vanished, according to reports from TMZ.
The family of former Giants 3rd round supplemental draft pick Sam Beal says he has been missing since disappearing in July.
“Tomorrow makes it 7 months since we’ve last heard from or seen my brother,” his older sister Essence Zhane posted on Facebook.

Nobody has heard from him or seen Sam Beal ever since.
The sister of former New York Giants defensive back Sam Beal is pleading for the public to help find her brother.
Essence Zhane asked Facebook to contact the Kentwood Police Department in Virginia with any information. Beal reportedly took no belongings beyond the clothes he wore, slides, and a wallet containing his ID and banking card.
Sam Beal’s girlfriend was the last one to see the former NFL player. His girlfriend said the last time she heard from him, he said he was going back home.
The vehicle he was in was later recovered with his shoes, socks, and sand on the passenger floor. Zhane stated the family has exhausted all leads. They are now looking to the public to assist them and give them closure. He’s described as having black hair, a muscular and athletic build, and brown eyes.
Beal was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and attended high school in the state. He attended Western Michigan before the Giants took him in the 2018 NFL Supplemental Draft. Beal played three seasons with the Giants. He recorded 27 tackles, one pass defensed, and one safety before opting out in 2020 and being released in 2021.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Sam Beal in the hope that he’s found.
