The former Super Bowl winning head coach did an unboxing on X.
Former Bucs head coach Jon Gruden will forever be known as the first coach to turn the team into a Super Bowl winner. And on Saturday, the team sent him the coolest care package the team can send anyone.
On his profile on X, the former coach did an unboxing of the package the Buccaneers sent Gruden, revealing a 1976 jersey with his name on the back.
“Look at that! 1976, inaugural season,” Gruden said emphatically into the camera as he held up the jersey before putting it on. “That is awesome.”
Gruden’s tenure with the Bucs ran from 2002 to 2008, which included of course the Super Bowl XXXVII victory during his first season and several playoff appearances thereafter.
“These new Buccaneers jerseys are SWEET and I can’t wait to see them take the field with these this season,” wrote Gruden in his social media post. “Expecting big things from our boys here in Tampa!”
Tampa Bay kicks off their 50th season this season and will debut their ’76 throwback look during their home opener Week 3 against the New York Jets.
