A former All-Pro thinks one of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ wide receivers is still ascending and wants to help him do just that.

The Pittsburgh Steelers acquired DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks this offseason to be their No. 1 wide receiver, and some believe he still hasn’t even peaked.

Former All-Pro wide receiver Dez Bryant is among those and wants to help Metcalf reach his full potential.

“I want to work with DK Metcalf,” Bryant posted on X. “He has another level to him that I want to see him unlock.”

Metcalf has been a very productive wide receiver through the first six seasons of his NFL career, recording at least 900 receiving yards and five touchdowns every year.

However, he does have yet to be mentioned in the same company as the top wide receivers in the NFL, despite now being paid like one.

As part of the Steelers’ trade for Metcalf, they gave him a new five-year, $150 million contract, putting him among the top four highest-paid wide receivers in the league.

Metcalf would be worth that money even if he continues to produce the way he has for the past six years, but Pittsburgh would surely welcome an increase in production, too.

Learning from Byrant could help him do just that. Bryant was one of the best wide receiver in the league during his NFL career, racking up 537 receptions for 7,506 yards and 75 touchdowns from 2010-20.

Like Bryant, Metcalf is a bigger-bodied wide receiver, standing at 6-foot-4, 229 pounds. If Metcalf can find a way to better use his frame, he may just unlock another level to his game with the help of Bryant.

Since being drafted in the second round (No. 64 overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft, Metcalf has registered 438 receptions for 6,324 yards and 48 touchdowns.
