You’ve all been very patient, and now your reward is an actual, meaningful NFL regular season game.
When we last saw the Philadelphia Eagles, they were busy lifting the Lombardi Trophy after a 40-22 humbling of the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59. Jalen Hurts may have won Super Bowl MVP, but the disemboweling of the Chiefs offense by Vic Fangio’s defense was the real story of the game.
When we last saw the Dallas Cowboys, they were starting Trey Lance and losing to the Washington Commanders at home to cap off a miserable 7-10 season. Mike McCarthy has been replaced by former Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, who’s an NFL head coach for the first time in his career. The good news for Schotty is that the Cowboys traded for George Pickens, Dak Prescott is healthy again, and on the defensive side of the ball they’ve got the return of Trevon Diggs, plus a healthy tandem of Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence…
Hang on a minute, I’m getting some new information on Parsons and Lawrence…
Yeah, good luck to Schotty.
The world waits with bated breath as Kenny Clark makes his Cowboys debut tonight in Philadelphia. Unsurprisingly, the Eagles are huge favorites over the Cowboys, but I think this game could be closer than that 8.5-point spread suggests.
NBC/Peacock have the broadcast at 5:20 pm PT.
