Sean McVay is a proper ‘football guy‘ raised by Footbal Men. His paternal grandfather was the head coach of the NY Giants in the 1970s and the 49ers GM when they won 5 Super Bowls in the 80s and 90s.
Sean was raised into football and was the first quarterback in his high school’s history to rush and pass for 1,000+ yards in back-to-back seasons before transitioning to wide receiver in college. You get the point. McVay’s a football guy. You know this already though, his haircut tells you everything you need to know.
In true football guy fashion, Sean McVay suffered an injury on the sidelines from pacing too hard during the game against Tennessee on Sunday. He revealed the injury on his Coach McVay Show.
On the weekly Rams show, the head coach said “foot’s good. I did tear my plantar fascia, so yeah. Well, that’s a good thing, because I guess it allows you to heal a little faster. But I was being dramatic, limping around towards the end of the game, but the MRI confirmed I did that.”
He went on to add “good news is I’m not playing. I’m just on the sidelines watching, so if I have a little cool limp to add some swag, then you’ll know why.”
I’ve torn mine twice while running barefoot on the beach. Shoes are necessary.
I can’t speak to what Sean McVay’s shortcomings are here but I have found that doing single leg calf raises from the tips of my toes has strengthened my plantar fascia immensely as a by product of the calf exercise. If you’re reading this, coach, work in some calf raises. It is trend to skip leg day but don’t do it, do not be that guy.
