Crossing Broad
Something sensible coming out of Washington for once* –
Daniels has been beat up all year long. He’ll finish his sophomore season with seven games played after they put him out there in Minnesota last weekend. That was coming off the knee sprain, hamstring strain, AND dislocated left elbow and there wasn’t anything to play for at that point anyway, so now he’s finally been put on ice as the Commies send Marcus Mariota out there to play the Eagles on Saturday night.
Mariota this season has been better than what Kenny Pickett showed on Sunday. It is certainly ironic that the Eagles will play three games, maybe four, against former Birds quarterbacks serving as backups for other teams. They are 2-0 against Pickett and Carson Wentz, and could finish 4-0 with Mariota in the mix, depending on what happens.
And while some people will say the Birds got lucky down the stretch, this Eagles team opened with murderer’s row, having to beat Dak Prescott, Patrick Mahomes, Matt Stafford, and Baker Mayfield en route to a 4-0 start. They had to play Jordan Love and Jared Goff and Caleb Williams and Justin Herbert. So make no mistake; the schedule is much easier now, but it hasn’t been for most of the year.
*The headline is a double entendre because you could be talking about the useless politicians or the individuals running the Washington Football Team.
