The Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals have issued their final injury reports of the week ahead of their Sunday matchup at US Bank stadium. Here they are:
Some good news for the Vikings as Jeff Okidah will be back on Sunday. Andrew Van Ginkel was a full participant in Friday’s practice so that bodes well for him clearing concussion protocol and playing on Sunday as well. Christian Darrisaw was a full participant as well on Friday but whether he feels ready to start on Sunday remains questionable. Harrison Smith was limited all week in practice so I’m guessing that means he won’t play on Sunday. I would expect him to be a full participant in practice before playing his first game this season.
For the Bengals, their injury list is short but significant. Starting defensive end Shemar Stewart was ruled out as expected, while starting cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt is unlikely to play with a doubtful designation. He didn’t practice Thursday or Friday. Additionally, starting cornerback D.J. Turner is listed as questionable, but was limited in practice both Thursday and Friday with a hamstring. I’m guessing that he is more likely to be inactive on Sunday than play, but we’ll see.
Bottom line, while the Vikings may still be without some key starters, they should get a couple back on Sunday. The Bengals could be in a tough situation at cornerback as they could be down two starters on Sunday. Losing Stewart doesn’t help either.
