One of the biggest sources of optimism for the Steelers this upcoming season stems from the coaching staff changes featuring a new approach to the offensive side of the football. We all know that Mike McCarthy will be the central figure of operations, but Brian Angelichio is also making his debut as an offensive coordinator. With Aaron Rodgers back in the fold, there will surely be some schematic carryover from last season, but this unit needs new ideas to improve an aerial attack that finished 19th in EPA/play and 26th in dropback success rate in 2025.
Angelichio served as the tight ends and passing game coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings before making his way to the Steel City, which led me to go back and study their offense to see what made their team so dangerous through the air. This film room goes into detail on how Kevin O’Connell and company feature their best playmakers, the concepts that they lean on the most, and what the Steelers could steal from their playbook this fall.
