The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2025 season came to an embarrassing conclusion on Monday night as the team got steamrolled at home by the Houston Texans in the AFC Wild Card Game by a score of 30-6. Not only did the loss end the Steelers’ season, but it could also be the final game of Aaron Rodgers’ NFL career.
As Aaron Rodgers was walking off the field for what could prove to be his final NFL game, fans in the crowd at Acrisure Stadium were yelling at the future Hall of Fame quarterback to “retire” following an ineffective outing against the Houston Texans and their suffocating defense.
In the Steelers’ 30-6 Wild Card Round loss to the Houston Texans, Rodgers completed 17 of 33 passes for 146 yards, no touchdowns and an interception.

“I’m not going to make any emotional decisions,” Rodgers told the media after the loss.
“Disappointed, you know, obviously, I’m such a, Fun year, you know, a lot of adversity, but a lot of, a lot of fun. It’s been a great year, you know, overall in my life in the last year, and this is, you know, a really good part of that, coming here and being a part of this team. So it’s disappointing to be sitting here, with the season over.”
In his first and potentially only season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Rodgers completed 65.7% of his passes for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.
With the win over the offensively-challenged Steelers, the Houston Texans have advanced to the AFC Divisional Round game, where they’ll take on the #1 seed New England Patriots.
