The Denver Broncos boosted their offensive firepower in landing Jaylen Waddle via trade on March 17. He’s bound to form an electric duo with Marvin Mims at wide receiver.
Mims himself sparked fan intrigue on Sunday. He dropped this honest take on the newest wideout while at a charity event.
“Offensively I think we’re a lot further than where we were,” Mims said at his youth football camp. “We have a lot of playmakers. It’s going to be a fun year. Adding Jaylen to the group has been great. He’s been amazing.”
Mims adds he’s hung out with the Broncos’ prized addition to get to know him during his downtime.

Denver adds the past 100-catch wide receiver to an offense that ranked just outside the top 10 in 2025. Head coach Sean Payton trusted Bo Nix to ignite this system and delivered 3,931 yards with 25 touchdowns.
But the AFC runner-ups only produced one 1,000-yard wideout in Courtland Sutton, who racked up 1,017 yards. Troy Franklin added 709 yards but he and Sutton combined for 13 touchdowns. Mims caught 37 passes for 322 yards and scored once.
Waddle is expected to open the offense up further including from the slot spot. Denver lacked a deep threat last season to take pressure off Sutton and Franklin, the latter more of an intermediate target. Waddle’s arrival pairs him greatly with the longtime possession target Sutton.
Denver sent its 30th overall draft pick, a third rounder and fourth rounder to Miami to swoop up Waddle. But this move proves the Broncos’ reincarnated win-now mindset. Mims himself already sees how valuable Waddle’s presence has become early on.
