Plus, the Patriots’ 2025 draft class gets some high marks.
The New England Patriots have made plenty of changes since the end of the 2024 season. The team has fired a head coach and signed a new one, spent a ton of money in free agency, and added a draft class widely considered to be one of the best in the NFL.
This collection of moves has Patriots fans overjoyed.
When polled last week, 97 percent of fans said they were confident the team is headed in the right direction. That is an 11-point bump from the number when Mike Vrabel was hired by the team and 84 points higher than the 13 percent mark heading into the final week of the season.
Behind that optimism is a draft class that Patriots fans love, with 71 percent of respondents giving the group an “A” grade, Another 27 percent thought it deserved a “B”. Just one percent each gave it a “C” or a “D”, with no one giving it a failing grade.
While Patriots fans love the draft class, few fans around the league view left tackle Will Campbell as likely to become the biggest star of the players picked in the top five. That honor is split between Abdul Carter with 40 percent of the vote and Travis Hunter with 38. Just 12 percent think the top pick, quarterback Cam Ward, will be the top star. Campbell and Browns defensive lineman Mason Graham each received 5 percent of the vote.
NFL fans thought the Patriots had the second best draft class in the NFL. With 17 percent of the vote, they finished runner-up to the New York Giants with 31 percent. the Giants added Abdul Carter and Jaxson Dart in the first round, trading back up to get the quarterback. Fan-favorite running back Cam Skattebo is the other notable name from their draft class.
Other teams with classes near the top included the Seahawks, Raiders, and Chiefs with 15, 14, and 14 percent of the vote respectively. The Carolina Panthers received 9 percent of votes.
