Mile High Report
The Broncos are entering Week 8 of the season, and they still struggle to play disciplined ball with minimal mistakes – pre-snap penalties, penalties that erase explosive plays, miscommunication on the field, or missed tackles.
And it’s getting a little late in the season to still be struggling to play without so many costly mistakes.
Broncos Country knows it.
And Sean Payton knows it.
“Both sides of the ball, that’s concerning, and we’ve addressed it,” he said. “We’ll continue to address it. It’s one of those items that has to get cleaned up.”
Payton added that without fixing the penalties, the team’s goals for the season would be unattainable.
“So that has to change to get to where we want to go,” Payton said, admitting that those “details” have not been “detailed enough” in practice. “In other words, we still have to look at ourselves first as coaches.”
But good news for Payton and the rest of the coaching staff, fans still have confidence in the team.
