Pete Carroll confirmed that Jackson Powers-Johnson and Jordan Meredith are in a competition for the starting center position as they each worked with the first unit early in training camp.

It was a surprise because it had been assumed that Powers-Johnson would be the clear-cut starter as he was during the offseason sessions. The 2024 second-round pick from Oregon has been considered the future at center in Las Vegas.

But the early days of training camp caused some doubt and Meredith was at center at Seattle last week. We asked our community members, who they think will win this competition at center.

It wasn’t close. Few believe Meredith will beat out Powers-Johnson, who won the vote in a massive landslide.

The truth is there is probably room for both Powers-Johnson and Meredith in the starting lineup at center and a guard spot and Powers-Johnson very may end up at guard.
