Friday is here, which means the Atlanta Falcons and Washington Commanders both held their final practices of the week. We have been monitoring the health for both teams over the last few days, and we now have a good idea of who will and will not play on Sunday.
Let’s dive in!

Looking at the Falcons, there was some fairly predictable news. Following the release of yesterday’s injury report, I said that there was a solid chance that corner A.J. Terrell would be ruled out today — and he indeed was. Terrell will hopefully use this weekend and next week’s Bye Week to heal his hamstring and return for the Week 6 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Additionally for the Falcons, receiver KhaDarel Hodge and running back Nate Carter have both been ruled out this week.
The big news though is on the Commanders’ side. Quarterback Jayden Daniels, who was limited all week, did not practice on Friday and will not play against the Falcons. Expect to see former Falcons’ quarterback Marcus Mariota at the helm for Washington. Also worth noting, receiver Terry McClaurin, who I believe is pound-for-pound one of the best receivers in the league, will not play against the Falcons due to a quad injury. Fellow receiver Noah Brown will also not play due to groin and knee injuries.
Washington is incredibly banged up and lacking their stars, will the Falcons be able to take advantage in a crucial bounce-back game? We will see.
