Bijan Robinson had quite the night on Thursday Night Football against the Bucs. However, it ended with some controversy during his postgame interview.

NFL fans were treated to a great game between the Falcons and the Bucs. However, many were upset at Amazon Prime and the line of scrimmage color blending with the Bucs’ uniform. The anger eventually wore off, specifically in the fourth quarter.

Down by double-digits, the Falcons made a furious comeback to win a game where they had nothing to play for.

Bijan Robinson played a big part in that. The Atlanta Falcons star produced 93 rushing yards on 19 carries. He also had one touchdown and had eight catches. It was a complete game for him. However, the game became more about what he said during the postgame interview.

Bijan Robinson Apologizes for ‘Insensitive Comment’

Falcons running back Bijan Robinson was apologetic after Thursday Night Football. Robinson issued an apology for a comment he made on the Prime Video postgame show.

The third-year running back referenced a playground game from his youth. Unfortunately, it also contains a gay slur that many kids do not know about in this day and age.

Richard Sherman asked Robinson about his ability to make defenders miss and whether it stemmed from his backyard football days. Bijan Robinson confirmed by saying he played the game “smear the qu–r” as a child. The term Robinson used is a slur directed toward the LGBTQ+ community.

Shortly after his comments, Robinson took to X in an attempt to make amends for what he said.

“Hey everyone, I want to apologize for the insensitive comment I made in the broadcast, Robinson posted. “It was a football game we used to play as a kid but that’s not an excuse.”

“I recognize the mistake and make sure to do better in the future. It was not reflective of my beliefs and I am so sorry to those I offended seriously!”

The 23-year-old is in his third year out of Texas. He is within striking distance of 2,000 all-purpose yards on the season.
