The Saints have the first of two matchups against divisional rival Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, who will be without a few key offensive personnel.
Adam Schefter reported that quarterback Michael Penix Jr had suffered a potentially season-ending injury against the Carolina Panthers, while Ian Rapaport revealed that a PCL strain will keep star wide receiver Drake London out of Sunday’s game in New Orleans.
The injuries will leave Atlanta without its top receiver, and Kirk Cousins will slide in to start at quarterback.
Penix has had a number of impressive games this season, though the Falcons are amidst a 5-game losing streak. London has posted over 800 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns already this season, and will be a big miss for head coach Raheem Morris’ team.
With Atlanta shorthanded on the offensive side of the ball, the Saints will be hoping to capitalize as they come off their bye week.
